Radio Controlled Yachting

The Tauranga Radio Sailing Club is trying to revive model yachting on Hamilton Lake, which has all but disappeared. All the older Hamilton club members have been passing away and there are only a few left.

 In an attempt to help get Hamilton Model yachting back on its feet I am going to start up Tuesday night summer sailing starting this Tuesday afternoon, 10th Jan 2023 from 4pm to 6pm in a smaller cheaper class called a DF65. (one class kitset yacht)  

 People that get into model yacht sailing are generally older retired yacht club members over 45 years of age, who for one reason or another are unable to sail dinghy boats any more, but can still enjoy yacht racing and the camaraderie of model yacht racing..

I will have four loan boats this Tuesday so all they have to do is attend and say "Hi, I'm interested". The weather forecast is not great this Tuesday, but rain, hail or shine I will be there each Tuesday over summer and see what it grows into.
